ATI gab heute bekannt, zusammen mit Massive, einer Firma im CG-Sektor, spektakuläre Szenen aus dem Kinofilm "Lord of the Rings" mit Hilfe von ATI's neuer Grafikchipgeneration in Echtzeit zu rendern. Wie schon üfters erwähnt, bietet die neue 128bit-VPU bis jetzt noch nie gesehene Rendergeschwindigkeit. "Seeing a computer generated film sequence rendered in real time is a huge benefit for artists," stated Stephen Regelous, Massive's Chief Technology Officer and President. "Our technology demonstration showcases the huge leap forward taken by the digital content creation community to address the implementation of technically complex data of thousands of realistic digital characters interacting with each other and their environment in a completely procedural simulation."
